Freeway:

Freeway is a black Labrador Retriever approximately 2 yrs old (as of
3/11/07). He is a neutered male that gets along great with other dogs.
We just got him in as a stray, hence the name "Freeway".

He is being fostered at Rio Verde K9 where he has learned to walk
nicely on a leash and rides nicely in a car. We are not sure if he is
house trained as his life at Rio Verde K9 is very structured and he is
not allowed to run free in the house where he might have an accident. A
structured routine is the foundation to house training so he probably
would pick it up very quickly if he isn’t already.

He used to be a fence jumper if he was left alone; neutering and lots of
playmates cured that desire. He stays now where is he put. He is very
well mannered and listens to commands very well. He has total respect
considering his size. Never pushing up against you or jumping up but
will nudge you if he thinks you will pet him.

Freeway is very bright and able to grasp most of what you ask him but
still has that typical happy go lucky lab attitude, little goofy always ready
to eat and life is good now I have a human to love. He just want to be
your buddy and to have somebody to play with. He does not play ball or
frisbee but like most labs...loves to carry his stuffed animals around in
his mouth. Loves to just be in the house with you, very content to be in
his kennel if he can be near you but equally as content to be outside.
Freeway also loves to play in his water tub, gets in there to cool off and
get all wet, if you have a pool he will probably enjoy swimming it.
